Insurance Fraud NC Couple Burned Housed Down For Insurance Check

Investigators with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Department say they believe a Triad couple burned down their home to get an insurance check.

On Friday, authorities arrested Shana Leonard Gordon of Advance and Neal Stone Gordon Jr. of Mocksville on the charges of second degree arson, insurance fraud, and felony conspiracy.

The fire happened back on November 24, 2014. Emergency crews responded to the home in the area of Craver Rd. and Enterprise Rd. in the Arcadia community of Lexington. Investigators say the Gordons were the property owners of this home, but when crews went to put out the fire, neither the couple nor anyone else was living there.

An investigation between the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, Davidson County Fire Marshal’s Office and the Davidson County Fire Investigation Task Force led to the couple’s arrests.

The Gordons were arrested in Davie County and taken to the county jail. Both appear in court on September 8.
