Louisville police have charged a 15-year-old girl with the murder of her newborn daughter.
Detectives were called to a location on Abraham Flexner Way around 3 p.m. Wednesday, where they found a girl who had just given birth. Her newborn baby “had suffered some type of trauma,” according to police statement.

A police report says the girl admitted to intentionally smothering the infant girl, causing her death.
The girl is being held at the Jefferson County Youth Detention Center.
