A woman missing from Tracy since last month has been found slain in Fresno County, according to Tracy police and the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, and they have named the man last seen with her as a suspect in her slaying.
Megan Troen, 20, was reported missing on July 21 when she did not return from a short trip with a longtime acquaintance on July 20. Her family was concerned because she had a diminished mental capacity and reported her missing the next morning.
Troen’s body was found by workers in the California Aqueduct near West Nees Avenue and Interstate 5 near Firebaugh on Thursday, and the coroner identified her Wednesday, connecting her to a missing person’s report out of Tracy.
Fresno sheriff’s officials on Thursday named the acquaintance last seen with Troen as a suspect in her homicide. They are seeking Kaleo Schreiner, 21, of Tracy, who is known to frequent Tracy, Stockton, Sacramento, Pittsburg, and the east Los Angeles cities of West Covina and Baldwin Park. He is described as 6 feet tall, 300 pounds, with a shaved head and several distinctive tattoos. Among them are an assault rifle above his right eyebrow, the letters “LV” on his right cheek and a microphone on his neck. He has several tattoos on his forearms.
Schreiner is believed to be driving a 2001 black Lexus IS 300 with California license plate 6SLZ045. He may be armed, according to officials.
Anyone with information about him is asked to call the Fresno Sheriff’s Office at (559) 600-3111, Detective Jose Diaz at (559) 600-8206, Detective Matt Hamilton at (559) 600-8210 or Fresno Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP (7867).
