One person is dead after an early morning crash in Bath County .
The crash happened in Owingsville around 6:30 Thursday morning. Kentucky State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on US 60 near Crossroads Elementary School.
According to officials, 22-year-old Jerry D. Maschino, of Olympia, was operating his 1998 BMW Z3 eastbound on 60 when he failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway. Maschino’s car then struck a culvert and came to final rest against a parked vehicle. He was ejected from the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead on the scene by the Bath County Coroner. One woman close to the victim says she thinks he was on his way to work when he crashed this morning.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
