The family of a Lexington murder victim still has questions about the night they lost Jermaine Howard.
Jermaine’s then fiancée Yolanda Johnson spoke with LEX 18’s Kristen Pflum about their plans for the future and how it was derailed one night.
Yolanda and Jermaine dated for seven years and they shared an apartment on Lakeshore. Yolanda says it wasn’t long after they moved in together that she put a ring on his finger.

“So I got him a ring for Christmas and asked him. And my birthday is in February so he got me a ring and we officially did the proposal,” said Yolanda.
In August of 2007, her 29-year-old fiancé was killed.
As Yolanda was in the shower that night, Jermaine collapsed in the living room, a gunshot wound to his face.
“I always thought it was someone who knew him. I always thought that because I didn’t think a random person would just pull up and do something like that,” said Yolanda.
Police got a lot of leads, but they’re still waiting on the one that leads them to the killer.
Yolanda hopes they find the killer for Jermaine’s mother.
“He was her only son. And I’ve moved on, I’m happily married now, but she’ll never get another son,” Yolanda told Kristen Pflum.
