A New Mexico man pleaded guilty Tuesday to sexual exploitation of a child.
56-year-old Raymond C. Vallia, III, pleaded guilty to transporting a 13-year-old from Henry County, Mo., across state lines with the intent to engage in sexual activity.
Investigators say the 13-year-old met Vallia on social media. Vallia later picked up the 13-year-old from her home and investigators say they intended to head back to his home in New Mexico, where they planned to live together.

Vallia was located by New Mexico State Police while driving along Interstate 40, one day after the 13-year-old was reported missing from her Montrose, Mo., home. When police stopped Vallia’s vehicle, they found the 13-year-old. Vallia was arrested at the scene.
Vallia was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison without parole followed by a 10-year term of supervised release, and must pay restitution to his victim. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.
