The Homicide Unit of the Louisville Metro Police Department is investigating after a 5-month-old boy died of blunt force injuries.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the child as Noah Jones. Deputy Coroner James Wesley said the child suffered multiple blunt force injuries, describing them as “inflicted trauma.”
Residents at a home in the 2200 block of Date Street, where the baby and his mother were staying, said the baby was taken to Kosair Children’s hospital on Monday morning.

The residents said the baby died on Wednesday and people in the home suspect foul play due to the child’s injuries.
“He had 11 broken ribs, (a) fractured skull, broken arm, bleeding from the brain,” a woman who wanted to remain anonymous told WAVE 3 News.
Detectives haven’t identified a suspect and family members are advised by police to steer clear of details, but are using community activist Christopher 2X to speak on their behalf.
“They even described to me an indescribable amount of pain and the weight connected to that pain in losing a five month old child,” 2X said.
Neurath-Schoppenhorst Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements.
