UPDATE: Brenda Gail Smith was found safe and sound and the Golden Alert has been cancelled.
A Golden Alert has been issued for a Laurel County woman.
54-year-old Brenda Gail Smith was last seen near L & N Credit Union on Cumberland Gap Parkway in southern Laurel County on Tuesday at approximately 6 p.m.

Smith is described as a white female,and is 5’5″ tall and weighs 350 pounds, has a heavy build, green eyes and a light complexion, brown collar length hair.
She was last reported to be wearing dark colored pants and a black jacket. Smith was carrying two backpacks and 2 Walmart bags. If anyone knows her whereabouts, they are asked to call the Laurel County Sheriff’s office at 606-864-6600 or 606-878-7000.
