The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a missing-person case: Vaughn Frank Flewelling, 47, the owner of the Hamlin Grocery, hasn’t been seen since shortly after he closed the store at 10 p.m. Sunday, April 10.
The missing-person report was called in to Mason/County 911 Center at about 8 a.m. today, April 11 after Flewelling failed to open the store at 6 a.m.
As of late this afternoon Flewelling was listed as a “voluntary missing” person, but sheriff’s detectives were actively investigating.

Hamlin’s Grocery is at 3611 N. Jebavy Drive in Mason County’s Hamlin Township.
Flewelling is 6 feet tall, 240 pounds, with hazel eyes and thinning hair. He was last known to drive 2006 Lincoln Town Car, cream in color, with Michigan license plate DJL4850, according to the sheriff’s office.
