Identity Theft Jackson City, TN Woman Charged

A woman was arraigned in Jackson City Court today on charges of identity theft and theft over $1,000.

On March 10, Bernice Aday reported that somebody used her banking account information to simulate checks and make several purchases in the Jackson-Madison County area, according to court documents.

The checks included Aday’s name, address, routing number and account number. Five checks were written to TJ Maxx on Aug. 15, 2015, one check was written on Aug. 17 to Wal-Mart and one was written to Food Giant on Jan. 31 of this year.

During the investigation Temisi Higgins, 41, was developed as a suspect through video evidence and she was later arrested, according to court documents.

The total amount of the fraudulent checks was more than $3,600.
