Kennewick police and a local family are searching for a 13-year-old girl who hasn’t been seen since Saturday afternoon.
The family of Amiya Moton filed a missing person report with police early Sunday. Police have listed Amiya as a runaway and don’t currently have any leads, officials said.
Ramona Trombley, Amiya’s mother, told the Herald she does not believe her daughter ran away. She noted that her daughter has not had any contact with her friends or used social media since she was last seen. She also did not take any personal belongings, including her phone.

“She didn’t even take her toothbrush and she takes her toothbrush to school,” Trombley said. “It’s like she’s dropped off the face of the earth.”
Witnesses told Trombley they last saw Amiya in Zintel Canyon. She was wearing a black shirt with pink-striped shirt sleeves, blue jean cut-off shorts and blue Air Jordans. Her hair was styled straight and in a ponytail with a blue headband.
