New details are emerging about the apparent murders of a couple from northern Kentucky. The mother of 35-year-old Crystal Warner says a witness saw Craig Pennington shoot Warner and her boyfriend, 38-year-old Robert Jones.
Now, the family is asking for help from the public to help find the bodies.
Warner and Jones left a family gathering in Letcher County last weekend and stopped at a Washington County cabin to settle a dispute with a renter who reportedly hadn’t paid them in months.

“They were fun and active. Both of them worked hard and they had great jobs,” said Warner’s mother, Mary Reeve.
It’s the last time anyone would see the couple.
On Friday, Georgetown Police discovered the couple’s abandoned car. Investigators then arrested 52-year-old Craig Pennington, the man who had been renting the cabin.
“Course they said that a witness come forward and seen this man shoot them and that they were dead,” said Reeve.
Jones and Warner dated for years. Jones had a teenage son and twin boys.
“The kids came over every weekend. They always did things with the kids. They’d take them to sporting events, just always doing something with them,” said Reeve.
Now, relatives are asking for help from the public to help find the bodies.
“I just ask everybody if they would just search their properties from the area of Springfield and surrounding areas towards Georgetown where the car was found,” said Reeve.
Reeves said they’re also looking for closure in the midst of this tragedy.
“So that we can have a proper burial for them and celebrate their lives,” she said.

Police say Pennington is not cooperating with the investigation. He is being held at the Marion County Detention Center.
