One man is dead and three people are behind bars after an armed home robbery in Carter County.
It happened just after 8:15 a.m. on Saturday morning at a home in Olive Hill. Officials with KSP Post 14 said multiple people armed with guns forced their way into a home on Clark Hollow and took an undisclosed amount of cash. During the robbery police said an altercation occurred between the homeowner and one of the robbery suspects. That suspect, 48-year-old Kevin J. Helton of Salt Lick, was shot and killed at the scene. Two other suspects, Cindy Puckett and Jonathan Goodan, ran from the scene, and the fourth suspect, Brittany Crouch, stayed at the scene and was arrested.

KSP said during the robbery several people were at home, including children, but none of them were hurt.
Puckett, Goodan and Crouch are all lodged in the Carter County Detention Center and charged with 1st degree robbery.
KSP is investigating.
