Private Detective: Second Arrest Made After Infant Hospitalized

A second arrest has been made after an infant was hospitalized with a severe head injury.

On Tuesday, a seven-week-old baby girl was hospitalized at UK for treatment of a head injury.

Her father, Gary Nicely, was arrested later that day on charges of assault first degree, domestic violence, wanton endangerment first degree resisting arrest disorderly conduct second degree, and menacing.

The baby was determined to have critical head trauma.

Her twin was also transported to UK Children’s Hospital with injuries.

Their mother, Jessica Nicely, 31, was arrested on Thursday and charged with two counts of assault first degree, domestic violence, and two counts of wanton endangerment first degree.

Deputies say that the assault charges relate to the seven-week-old babies and the wanton endangerment charges relate to the four-year-old girl and seven-year-old girl at home.

Nicely was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
