Crews responded to a fire in the 3600 block of Appian Way, near the intersection of Armstrong Mill Monday.
Flames and smoke were visible from the structure. Firefighters told LEX 18 that the structure houses a daycare for developmentally disabled adults.
The building used to be a Kinder Care location.

Fire investigators say that 25-year-old John David Mullins started the fire outside, around the back of the building, and then it spread inside.
There were about 30 people inside, but everyone made it out safely.
“”The staff had done a good a job of getting all the folks out,” said Battalion Chief Jeff Nantz. “They were out and accounted for before we arrived, which is paramount for us, to make sure every body’s accounted for.”
Mullins was taken into custody. He faces arson charges in the case.
