Wrongful Death Victims ID’d in Laurel County Triple Shooting

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office has released the identities of the two female victims involved in a triple shooting early Tuesday morning in Laurel County.

Authorities say Jessica Collier, 29, of London, and Amy Lyons, 39, of Harrogate, Tennessee, are both listed in critical condition at UK Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

Deputies tell LEX 18, they responded to a shooting complaint on Huff Road, approximately five miles north of London, around 12:20 a.m. Tuesday. They had been told one woman had been shot. When deputies arrived, they found a deceased man with several gunshot wounds outside his pickup. The victim was identified as Gordon Browning, of Huff Road, who is believed to be in his 50s.

Two people were taken into custody in connection to the shootings.

Michael Paul Collier, 36, of Morris Road in London, is charged with murder and two counts of first degree assault. Investigators say Collier shot three persons causing death to one male and serious physical injuries to two females

Kathy Gail Middleton, 35, of Bowling Ridge Road in London, is charged with tampering with physical evidence. Police say Middleton was in a vehicle at the scene of the triple shooting. Investigators say Middleton exited her vehicle and took possession of a weapon used in the shooting and left the scene with it, taking it back to her residence. Detectives located Middleton with the weapon approximately 30 minutes later.”

Investigators say Michael Paul Collier, the alleged shooter, will face an additional charge of wanton endangerment regarding a five-year-old child that was at the residence of the shooting at the time.

The Sheriff’s Department says the shooting appears to be the result of a domestic argument. Two weapons were recovered.
