Accident Reconstruction Drug Use Expected in Fatal Crash

Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened Thursday morning in Rockcastle County.

The crash happened on Highland Drive in Mount Vernon.  Officials on scene said a pickup truck went over a hill before it crashed into a trailer home. One person in the truck was killed. Another person survived. No one in the mobile home was injured.

The victim of the crash has been identified as 36-year-old Thomas Franklin Bullen Jr. State police say that he was the driver. They say he was traveling northbound when he lost control of the vehicle and dropped off the shoulder, traveling through the yard before hitting the corner of the mobile home on Tincher Drive.

KSP says Bullen was not wearing his seatbelt.

His passenger, 27-year-old Zackery Mullins, was not wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured.

KSP says that drug usage is suspected to be a factor in the collision.
