A man accused of stealing a purse from a car in Rotterdam faces an identity theft charge in Glenville for allegedly using a credit card from the purse to buy gasoline in that town, police said.

Michael Dedeo, 44, of Troy was charged with identity theft and criminal possession of stolen property on Monday, according to Detective William Marchewka of the Glenville Police Department.
Police said Dedeo used the credit card to buy gas on April 26 at a Glenville business.
Dedeo is expected to appear in court on May 16.
