Wrongful Death Pair Wanted in Deadly Gas Station Shooting Still On The Loose

Investigators in Frankfort say a man is dead and the 2 people wanted in connection to his murder are on the loose.

It started Friday night just after 10:00 p.m. at the Marathon Gas Station on Holmes Street. Investigators say 54-year-old Adan Juarez Vicente was walking across the parking lot with a Marathon employee who had just closed the store for the night.

“People’s morals have gotten to the point, and have gotten so far away from God, that they think the world can be handed to them,” said Frankfort resident Bessie Woodman.

Two men allegedly walked up to rob Vicente and the store clerk. During the robbery one suspect shot Vicente; he died  at the scene.

“You never expect anybody to die. You know especially at a gas station. It’s just not right, ” said Frankfort resident Shannon Neal.

Investigators say Vicente worked as a handyman from time to time at the gas station.

“Didn’t matter what it was, if you had something he could do, whether he made money out of it or not, he would help you and do it. He would basically give you the shirt off his back, ” said Vicente’s friend, Angelica Mandosa.

Investigators say the suspects fled on foot towards Grand Avenue where witnesses say they got into dark colored, possibly grey Chevrolet.

“My prayers are with all of them, and my prayers are also with the people who shot him because they have not had any Christian upbringing, ” Bessie Woodman said.
