Missing Person Mobile, AL Teen Still Missing

The search for missing 16-year-old Brian Jesse Parker continues after he went missing on Tuesday, Mobile County Sheriff Sam Cochran announced on Thursday.

Cochran says the sheriff’s department, along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, has employed the Joint Child Abduction Rapid Deployment tactic to aid them in locating Parker.

Authorities also said they do believe suspicious circumstances played a part in Parker’s disappearance. The suspect, 22-year-old Matthew Moberg, is in custody and is not cooperating, Cochran said.

The search for Parker has extended from west Mobile past the Mississippi state line into the Escatawpa River area, and is being conducted by both land and air. Forensics are also being compiled and tested and witnesses are being questioned.

Authorities also said that this case is still classified as a missing person case and said that Parker has no history of mental health issues and has never ran away before.

Cochran said that because of Moberg’s criminal history, he fears something tragic has happened, but said that he remains optimistic.

Authorities implore for the public to come forward or to call the MCSO at 251-574-8633 if they have information regarding Parker’s whereabouts.
