CENTERVILLE — A woman who is wanted by multiple jurisdictions along the Wasatch Front is now behind bars.
Julia Herzog, 41, also known as Julia Amelia Higbee, was arrested by Unified Police on Saturday and booked in Salt Lake County Jail for driving under the influence, Centerville Police Lt. Paul Child said.
Herzog was placed on Centerville’s most-wanted list in February after she failed to show up for a sentencing hearing in 2nd District Court, Centerville Detective Jake Alexander said.
Alexander is the lead investigator on the Herzog case.

According to the court website, under the names of Herzog and Higbee, there are 34 felony cases, in several counties, filed against her in 1st, 2nd and 3rd district courts since 1999.
Alexander said Herzog steals credit cards, driver’s licenses, checks and anything else that may have personal information on it out of cars.
“A lot of cars have been broken into, or forced into, while some were unlocked,” Alexander said.
If Herzog gets a credit card, she takes it to a store and “uses it as fast as she can before it gets declined,” Alexander said. “With checks, she writes out as many checks as she can and then uses the checks to create checks, using the account number and routing number.”
Herzog is also proficient at making fake IDs, using her own photograph and other people’s information.
“Her case is unique because it is only her,” Alexander said, referring to the majority of cases in which several people usually are involved in identity theft and fraud.
“We really don’t know if someone else is helping her, but in every video surveillance I’ve seen, it only shows her,” Alexander said. “She is always by herself.”
Alexander said he is aware of multiple victims and believes “this is just the tip of the iceberg.”
