Nicholasville Police have arrested a babysitter who allegedly assaulted a 10-month-old child in her care.
Audrey Rodriguez, 50, of Nicholasville was arrested Monday and charged with second-degree assault. The charge stems from an investigation in which detectives received information from a medical facility that a 10-month-old child had been injured and the injuries were consistent with some type of abuse. The child had to undergo surgery to repair her injuries. She is back at home with her parents at this time.

This investigation started on April 10 after investigators received information from the University of Kentucky Hospital that a 10-month-old child had been admitted to the hospital with injuries consistent with abuse. It was later determined that the child was in the care of the listed suspect in the case when the incident took place.
Police are asking that anyone who may have had children in her care in the past to please call the Nicholasville Police Department.
