A Lexington woman charged in the death of her goddaughter back in 2011 pleaded guilty in the case Wednesday.
A grand jury indicted Julie Reese for reckless homicide in the death of her 12-year-old goddaughter, Sierra Hubbard. The incident happened back in June 2011, outside Northern Elementary School. The coroner says Hubbard was walking next to the van and fell. Officials say a rear wheel ran over the child.

On Wednesday, Reese plead guilty to reckless homicide. Prosecutors oppose probation in the case and recommend Reese serve two years in prison.
Police say toxicology results show Reese had marijuana in her system at the time of the incident.
Formal sentencing in the case is set for July 9.
