Investigators say they will charge a group of children with third-degree arson for a big fire at a Union County popcorn factory.

The fire broke out around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Uncle Mark’s Popcorn Factory near Morganfield. Witnesses told deputies they saw four to five minors behind the building just before the fire started. firefighters had a hard time controlling the flames. several propane tanks also ruptured.
Deputies say the juveniles started a small fire behind the building, but are not sure whether they meant to burn down the building.
