Electronic Surveillance Man in Scream Mask Robbing Convience Store

Aiken, SC —

“Don’t move, or I’ll kill you. Don’t **** move,” one man yelled at two clerks.

Surveillance video shows these two men enter this convenience store, one of them wearing a mask from the movie “Scream,” but for these store clerks, this is no horror film. This is a terrifying reality.

It was a late night hold-up at Kent’s Corner, a convenience store in Aiken. Cameras were rolling as the man in the mask points a gun at one of the clerks and demands money.

Both clerks frantically comply.

“Give me all the *** money!” One man said.

“Okay, I’m giving you the money,” replied the clerk.

One of the men reaches over the counter and grabs the cash from the register, and In attempt to take it all the other demands the coins inside the change dispenser.

An innocent customer caught in the crosshairs, stands by and watches with his hands in the air.

Within minutes the men leave the store…police say…leaving a trail of change behind. Immediately, the store clerk calls police. “Ma’am, we just got robbed at Kent’s Corner, we just got robbed at Kent’s Corner,” she told the 911 dispatcher.

Investigators say the people in the store did the right thing in the heat of the moment.

“If an armed robbery is being attempted or going on in that store, we would ask the clerks or anyone in there to comply with his demands just to ensure everyone’s safety,” said Sergeant Jason Feemster, of the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

As the weather heats up, officials say there is usually a spike in crime.

“Sometimes clothing may give it away, not wearing the proper type clothing for the weather. Maybe they’re wearing long sleeved shirts, you know stuff like that, and that could indicate trouble.” Sgt. Feemster said.

Police say to prevent crime this summer, the most important thing you can do is be alert, and always report suspicious activity to police as soon as you spot it.

Police are still searching for the men in this video. If you have any information about this crime, please call Crimestoppers of the Midlands at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
