Scary moments when a fire broke out inside a store at the Fayette Mall. The smoke and flames were spotted around 3:30 Sunday afternoon. Firefighters say the fire appears to have been set intentionally.
Crews are now calling it an arson investigation and employees at DEB shops in the Fayette Mall are left to clean up the mess.
Several dresses burned together after it seems someone set fire to the clothes. Employees estimate there is about $5,000 to $10,000 in damage.

Sadly for the store, this is the third time in the last year they’ve been at the center of an arson investigation. The last time was earlier this year and the damage was estimated at almost $20,000.
Before Sunday’s fire, employees say they spotted two teen girls in the area of where the fire started. Employees immediately evacuated the store.
“I tried not to panic, but it was pretty scary to know that you could just be shopping and all of a sudden a fire could break out and it got pretty big. There were three or four dresses on fire at once,” says Gary Hayes, a shopper.
Police say they are still looking for the people responsible for doing this. If you have any information, call Lexington Police.
Police won’t say if the fires are connected.
