LEX 18 has learned a Lexington police car was broken into and weapons inside were stolen.
We’re told that on Wednesday, a police officer discovered some items missing from his squad car.
A Lexington police spokesperson confirms the department is investigating after a police car was broken into, and weapons and equipment were stolen, but won’t elaborate.

A source tells us those weapons are two guns. Specifically, a patrol rifle and a shotgun, similar to the two guns in the picture. The source says the equipment includes riot gear and a gas mask. A police spokesperson won’t confirm or deny information about the guns, saying they won’t discuss evidence in an ongoing case.
