Missing Person Crews Search for Jeremy Booker

The search for a missing man Saturday night at the Robinson Dam in Harrison County has turned into a recovery effort.

Crews started their search for Jeremy Booker, 23, around 8:30 p.m.

Booker’s fiancee, Kimberly Grimes told LEX 18, the two were at the dam to swim. Grimes was standing on a rock, when she stuck her foot into the water and she was suddenly swept away.

Grimes said Booker jumped in to save her. She was able to get out, but there was no sign of Booker.

Crews searched the water for hours, but found no sign of Booker.

“I’m blaming myself because he didn’t want to come and I fought with him,” Kimberly Grimes told LEX 18. “I told him it was hot and I wanted to go swimming. He said, baby, it’s too dangerous. It’s flowing too hard. And I said, baby, I just want to go swimming… I got out and I stuck my foot in to see how cold it was and it just swept me out.”

The search for Booker’s body was called off around midnight, but is expected to resume Sunday morning.

This drowning happened just hours after another incident at Robinson Dam. The Sheriff’s Office said around 4 p.m. a man nearly drowned. He was taken to UK Hospital, where he’s expected to recover.
