Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of the mother of a man on the run since walking away from his trial in Lexington last month.
John Buckley IV walked away from the courthouse just before a jury handed down a guilty verdict on a rape charge. He’s been the subject of a nationwide manhunt ever since.
Now, police say they are looking for his mother, Sandra Merritt. They say she filed a fake police report stating a stranger stole her car. Investigators say they think she knew her son took it. The vehicle later turned up in Georgetown several days after Buckley’s disappearance.
