The Beaverton Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying three people suspected of stealing a woman’s wallet and charging $16,000 on her bank and credit cards.
On July 22, the woman called police and reported that her wallet was stolen while she was shopping at T.J. Maxx in Beaverton, said Officer Mike Rowe, a Beaverton police spokesman. The woman told police she became distracted in the store when another woman started talking to her.

When the woman tried to pay for her items, she discovered her wallet was missing, Rowe said. She looked for her wallet in her car and at home but couldn’t find it.

The woman, Rowe said, then called her bank and credit card company and found that her cards were used at several stores in the Beaverton area. She then reported the theft to police, Rowe said. Investigators are looking into whether the woman who started talking to the victim is involved in the incident.
Rowe said investigators determined her cards were used at stores in and near Washington Square Mall, including at the Apple Store, Nordstrom, Victoria’s Secret and Best Buy.
The Keizer Police Department, Rowe said, is investigating another case with suspects who have a similar description.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Beaverton Police Department at 503-629-0111.
