A Jessamine County father is facing some serious charges of child abuse after police say he injured his infant daughter.
Eyon McCann, 32, is in jail after sheriff’s deputies say he seriously injured his own six-month-old daughter. Sheriff’s deputies started the investigation around noon Tuesday, then say with the help of Lexington Police they arrested McCann at about 5 p.m. at UK Hospital.

Sheriff’s deputies say the investigation shows McCann pressed so hard on his daughter’s head that he left deep contusions. the alleged abuse happened at the family’s home on Ethle Drive near the Fayette-Jessamine county line.
A person at the home told LEX 18 Wednesday that the little girl is okay, out of the hospital and staying with her mother.
McCann faces felony abuse charges.
