Wrongful Death OH Police Free Woman After Abduction and Find 3 Bodies

An Ohio police chief says two bodies were found in a house where a woman was rescued after an abduction. A third body was found at a nearby location and is believed to be related.

Ashland chief David Marcelli said a suspect in the Tuesday abduction, Shawn Grate, 40, was in custody and being questioned. Marcelli didn’t provide details about the bodies.

Ashland County coroner Dale Thomae said he didn’t know the gender of the victims, and said he hadn’t been allowed into the scene yet.

Thomae said he’ll use whatever means necessary to identify the bodies, but that could take time.

Richland County’s prosecutor told a newspaper Grate admitted he’d killed a woman in June at a property in Madison Township, near Ashland.

Investigators checked Tuesday and found a body down a ravine in woods behind that house, which was destroyed by fire.

FOX 8 reports that one family has identified one of the victims as Stacey Stanley, an Ashland, Ohio woman who had been missing for a week.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was processing the crime scenes. BCI spokeswoman Jill Del Greco said eight agents were assisting in collecting evidence.

Private Detective: Father Accused of Dropping Baby Says: “It’s A Lie”

A Bath County teen accused of dropping his five-month-old baby while running from deputies says that’s not what happened.

The sign at the house of Irvin Martin’s father is clear, “No Alcohol or Drugs.”

But last week Martin’s father said that rule was broken, “he’d been out drunk and came back drinking and I guess that’s what boiled up the fight with him and his girlfriend is him being out drinking.”

A fight he says took a scary turn when his son began to punch the wall.  In efforts to calm him down, Martin’s father called the police.

From jail Martin told LEX18, in fear, he took his five-month-old baby and walked down the hill to his aunt’s house.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

When we spoke to Sheriff John Snedegar, last week, he said he saw Martin fall on top of the baby then pick the child up and keep running, “I was more scared for the baby, than I was for him, because it was squalling everything where it fell and hit the blacktop road and everything.”

But Martin says that’s a lie and that the sheriff wasn’t even there to see what really happened, “the baby was still in my arms like I fell on my back with the baby in my arms…to keep the baby from getting hurt.”

Martin’s father says later, he helped the sheriff take his son into custody, “me, my other son and another boy handcuffed him for the sheriff.”

But, Martin says he was beaten and tazed by other officers who later arrived, “he said he has a bruise right there on his arm but he’s like trying to say that I hit him or something but it’s from he choked me out so hard that I couldn’t even breathe.”

As it stands, Martin says he will not plead guilty to hurting his baby.

He faces charges including wanton endangerment, assault, and resisting arrest.

The family of a Lexington murder victim is taking it upon themselves to find answers. Maryiah Coleman and her unborn son Jacoby were shot and killed outside a Winburn Apartment complex last Wednesday.

Coleman’s family is asking for anonymous tipsters to call a number set up by a community organization with information on her death. Fliers are being distributed around the community with a plea for answers in the death of the 22-year-old mother to be.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

“We’re asking you to come forward. Point blank, simple. The only way we are going to be healed from this is through Jesus Christ and justice. Jesus is doing his part and now justice, it’s time to justice to do it’s part. We’re gonna look and we’re gonna keep searching and we’re not going to stop,” Maryiah’s cousin, Perry Wooldridge told LEX 18.

The family says that they may not get over her death and the fact that they will never be able to hold their grandchild, but that justice will help the healing process.

Wrongful Death Husband of Boyle Co. Murder Victim Speaks Out

A couple weeks after a Boyle County woman was found murdered in her basement, the primary suspect in the case, her 15-year-old stepdaughter, was returned to Kentucky after being found in New Mexico.

Her father told LEX 18’s Breanna Gilroy that the past few weeks have been nothing short of a nightmare.

Rhonda Oakley, 52, was a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her stepson found her dead in the family’s basement when he came home from school.

Days later, her stepdaughter Jenna was found in New Mexico with her 20-year-old boyfriend Kenneth Nigh. Following an attempted suicide, Nigh remains in a New Mexico hospital.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Paperwork from New Mexico referred to Jenna as a suspect in Rhonda’s murder.

While no one has been charged in Rhonda’s death, Phillip Oakley believes that it is just a matter of time until his daughter is charged with the murder of his wife.

“I hate my daughter,” Phillip Oakley told LEX 18. “That’s pretty, ya know? Just like I said before, you always think you have unconditional love for your children. But, that’s not true.”

Phillip and Rhonda would have been celebrating their third wedding anniversary this year.

“She means everything. My wife, she was such a loving person. She just loved life,” said Phillip.

Now the only comfort he can find is in talking about the wonderful person Rhonda was.

“She was the perfect wife, the perfect mother, the perfect nana, the perfect friend,” said Phillip.

“I hate my daughter. I want the hardest thing to happen to my daughter ever,” Phillip told LEX 18. “I just don’t care.”

He believes that both Jenna and Kenneth Nigh are to blame.

“I think both the individuals responsible are monsters, and that’s just the way I think about that,” he said.

Phillip said he couldn’t go into much detail about what may have lead up to Rhonda’s death, but he says it could have been stopped.

“It’s just unthinkable,” he told LEX 18. “People will ask you, if you know something, talk to someone. Guess what? We did, and no one did anything. This is the result.”

Phillip now has a mission to fix the system that he says failed him.

LEX 18 asked Phillip if he had a message for his teenage daughter. He responded, “I don’t really want to say anything to her. I don’t want to say a thing to him (Nigh). I hope they both rot in hell.”

State Police will not say where Jenna Oakley is being held since she is a juvenile.

Jenna Oakley and Kenneth Nigh were found in Rhonda’s car. Phillip told LEX 18 that he needs help getting the car back to Kentucky from New Mexico. He said State Police told him that cost would fall on him. He has created a GoFundMe to help get the car returned.
