Dorothy Barth was scheduled to be sentenced for her crime last month, but she never showed up.

According to the Maysville Independent Ledger, Barth was the treasurer at Trinity United Methodist Church in Augusta when she allegedly stole more than $50,000 during a 10 month period in 2015 and 2016.

She pleaded guilty in March to charges of theft by unlawful taking, but failed to appear at her sentencing hearing.

Now there’s a bench warrant out for her arrest, and the grand jury has indicted her for bail jumping.

Private Detective: Lexington Police Seeing Increase in New Drug ‘Serenity’

Police say they’re seeing an increase in a dangerous marijuana substitute around town.

It’s called serenity and it often causes people to do things they normally wouldn’t.

Whether it’s called serenity, spice, K-2, or incense, police say they are seeing it around our area a lot more lately — along with the dangerous side effects.

On Saturday, police responded to a man with a bad reaction to the drug, who was in the middle of an intersection on all fours, growling and screaming at people.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

We also showed you video of another incident recently where a man fought Lexington Police officers while high on the drug.

In that altercation he also smashed his head through a glass window.

Police say they now respond to several calls a day involving the synthetic drug.

They see the most use with the homeless population and teens.

Officers want to combat this recent trend because the marijuana substitute is illegal and dangerous

“We have Narcan to treat heroin addicts, we have different things that ourselves and the paramedics can use for other narcotics. We don’t have that for serenity, so it pretty much has to come out of your system,” said Lt. Jackie Newman with Lexington Police.

Police say the growing popularity of the drug is not just a local trend, but a national one.

Fraud Investigation Eric Conn’s Attorney Warns of Scam Targeting Former Conn Clients

Eric Conn’s lawyer is warning about a scam targeting former clients of the former Kentucky attorney now on the run from the FBI.

Ned Pillersdorf posted on his Facebook page about the issue. He says someone is calling former Conn clients and telling them that because they were victimized by Conn, they are entitled to a special ‘Eric Conn compensation fund’ of $9000.

http://liarcatchers.com/fraud_investigation.html

Pillersdorf says the victims believe the call is legitimate because the identity of Conn’s former clients has not been made public.

The scammers then request that the victims send them $200 to process the compensation package. They also will call back and demand more money, threaten to sue or contact the IRS.

Pillersdorf tells LEX 18 at least two people have lost money, and several more have been contacted by this scam.

He says this fraud is being executed by skilled con men. He’s warning any former Conn clients to contact police if you get this call.
