Private Detective: Four Arrested After Shootout in Anderson County

Police say that gunfire led to a chase that landed four men in jail.

The Anderson News reports that the incident began just before 6 p.m. at the park-and-ride area near the Bluegrass Parkway when an argument broke out. The incident, police tell the newspaper, involved drugs and alcohol.

Police say one of the vehicles fled from the park and ride and was chased by a vehicle driven by Giles Bullock. The chase turned north onto Harrodsburg Road, with both vehicles traveling at high rates of speed and shots coming from Bullock’s vehicle toward a red Mustang occupied by Edward Hahn and Charles Walls.

Hahn and Walls called 911 and were headed to the police department during the chase, officers said, as the shooting continued through the residential area of Stringtown and onto North Main Street. At least one round hit the mustang.

Also arrested were Shelby Waford, 32; Michael C. Rice, 27; and Cody Lutz, 23.

Lawrenceburg Police Department said he and witnesses saw the vehicles pass at least six other vehicles as they traveled on North Main Street before turning onto Court Street.

Brashears said police recovered a pair of handguns in the vehicle driven by Bullock, one under the passenger seat and another on the rear passenger seat. Both were taken into evidence.

It wasn’t clear as of Friday morning which of the four men charged were shooting at the Mustang.

Bullock was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and reckless driving.

Waford was charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Rice and Lotz were charged with first-degree wanton endangerment.

All four were taken to the Lawrenceburg Police Department for questioning before being charged and transported to the Shelby County Detention Center.

Winchester Police say that a Clark County man wanted his girlfriend’s lover dead and in the process, he showed an undercover officer the cash he would pay.

Long is in jail charged with solicitation to commit murder.  He declined to speak with LEX 18 from jail.

Private Detective: Man Sentenced to 5 Years in Prison For Kickback Scheme

A Louisville man who previously admitted to bribing a former public official was sentenced to five years in federal prison Thursday.

Lawrence J. O’Bryan, 57, was sentenced for three counts of bribery concerning a federally funded program. In addition to being sentenced to five years in federal prison, he was ordered to pay a $100,000 fine and $642,201.50 in restitution. He has paid the restitution in full.

He pleaded guilty to those three counts of bribery concerning a federally funded program back in September 2016.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

O’Bryan had admitted to accepting kickbacks on behalf of former Secretary of the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet, Timothy Longmeyer, beginning in 2009.

His plea agreement stated that Longmeyer agreed to use his former position to steer contracts to MC Squared Consulting. In return, the Department of Justice states that the owner of MC Squared agreed to pay O’Bryan approximately half of MC Squared’s proceeds from these contracts. O’Bryan then kicked back a portion of these funds to Longmeyer.

The Department of Justice says that during his involvement in the scheme, O’Bryan accepted $642,201.50 in kickbacks from MC Squared. A significant portion of that was transferred to Longmeyer.

Longmeyer pleaded guilty for his involvement and was sentenced to 70 months in prison in September 2016.

Samuel McIntosh and Myron Harrod, both of MC Squared, pleaded guilty in January 2017 and are currently awaiting sentencing.

Police say an argument over a marijuana grow operation led to a shooting a two arrests in Lexington Wednesday evening.

It happened just before 6:00 p.m on Thompson Avenue where officers were called for a report of shots fired.

Witnesses say two men were outside a home shooting at each other.

Officer found both men at the scene and identified them as 29-year-old Brandon Ashley and 57-year-old Kendall Boulder.

Ashley had to be taken to the hospital after being shot.
