Private Detective, Officers’ Information Found at Suspected Drug Dealer’s Home

Franklin County deputies found some troubling evidence at the home of a suspected drug dealer.

While searching the home of 20-year-old Patrick Dylan Stipes who was arrested Friday, police found paperwork with names and unit numbers of some Frankfort police officers.

Officials say the list included officers’ names, cars and who they were assigned to. What’s most impressive, it also listed the names and license plate numbers for undercover officers – what officials call a big safety concern.

“They’re changing up unit numbers. I’m sure they’re making some changes to their list right now and switching things up,” said Franklin County Sheriff Pat Melton.

Stipes was arrested Friday for having a gun tucked in his shirt. He is only 20-years-old and is not old enough to legally carry a gun with a concealed carry permit.

Investigators also found five loaded guns, $16,000 worth of marijuana and residue from other drugs at the Woodland Avenue home, just a block from the capitol.

“Several weapons, including a 45 caliber MAC 10 and several high round magazines. AR 15 and pistols with high capacity magazines, as well. One of them being a Glock with over a 33 round magazines in it,” said Sheriff Melton.

But Sheriff Melton says what’s most concerning is the piece of paper they also found at the apartment. Officials say an investigation is underway to find out how it taht information landed in the wrong hands and why.

“By some chance did he pull it out of the trash, did someone give it to him?” Melton said. “How he got that list is obviously an issue and we want to know the answer to that.”
