An anonymous tip stopped a church from being the victim of thieves.
Police received a tip that two men were trying to break into the East Side Freewill Baptist Church In the Thelma community of Johnson County.
When the sheriff’s office responded, he said the burglary suspects had taken off but had left their vehicle behind.

There was evidence that they had tried to steal the church’s air conditioning unit.
The sheriff’s office said they are not releasing the names of the two until an indictment.
