Louisville police say a woman tried to strangle her 8-year-old son with a rope.
Police say Kimberly Anderson, 40, called 911 Tuesday and said she had just choked the boy. EMS took him to the hospital and officials say they expect he will recover.
Police arrested Anderson and charged her with attempted murder and criminal abuse.

According to the arrest report, Anderson told officers she considered killing her son with a knife, but settled on the rope because he would “just pass out.” Police say she admitted putting the rope around his neck for about 30 seconds. Court documents indicate she told officers the boy turned blue and said, “You’re going to kill me.”
