Private Detective: Suspects In Laurel Co. Burglary Have Strange History

A Laurel County woman confronted a burglar in her home who fled the scene with a man, but the story doesn’t end there. As it turns out, the two suspects have quite a history.

The burglary happened at a home on West Dixie Street on Sunday night. Police say the homeowner heard a woman, later identified as Loretta Yocum, break in through a window. The victim hid in a closet but after hearing the suspect going through her belongings she confronted the offender. The suspect quickly left the residence and jumped into a Dodge Neon belonging to Ora Angel.

Angel was apprehended by London police in Rotary Park. He initially denied having a female with him, but when investigators began searching, they discovered Yocum hiding inside of a tube slide in Rotary Park. But that’s not all the two were hiding.

Yocum and Angel have a sordid history.

Angel is no stranger to Laurel County Police. He was accused of unlawful imprisonment after allegedly offering a woman a ride and then trying to coerce her into having sex with him.

That woman was Loretta Yocum. Angel’s alleged accomplice in Sunday’s burglary.

Yocum told police that months earlier, Angel had abducted her at gunpoint and had even attempted to pull the trigger three or four times. She managed to escape the attempted abduction by texting a relative. At the time it was not clear that the two knew each other.

For now, it seems the two have reconciled their differences. The two were arrested together and charged with burglary in the second degree. They are both currently lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Yocum contacted LEX 18 recently to say that she had dropped the unlawful imprisonment charges against Angel
