A Texas man will spend 99 years in jail for yanking a little girl out of the shower and sexually assaulting her.
Juan Cerda Alvarado received the maximum sentenced Friday for the 2011 attack. The Fort Bend County man was previously found guilty for aggravated sexual assault, the Houston Chronicle reported.
Prosecutors said Alvarado attacked a child he had known for years. He walked into the bathroom while the 8-year-old was showering at her home, pulled her out and assaulted her.

The girl’s mom caught Alvarado when he left the bathroom. His clothes were wet, police said.
Prosecutor Jill Stotts said the girl was brave for coming forward, cooperating with police and telling her story.
“She is a wonderful little girl who has a lot to be proud of,” she said. “It took great courage to come forward and face her abuser. Because she was able to stand up for herself by telling what happened to her, she stood up for all child victims as well.”
