Wrongful Death One Suspect Dead in Clinton County Homicide Investigation

On Monday, November 24, 2014 Post 15 was notified that a deceased male had been found outside a residence on IDA Road in Clinton County. The landowner found the victim at approximately 4:30 PM CST.

Post 15 Troopers and Detectives were dispatched to the scene and determined that the victim, 36-year-old Anthony W. Hargis, of Albany, died as a result of a gunshot wound.

Kentucky State Police were attempting to locate 38-year-old James D. Polston, a 6’4″, 220 lb., white male with brown hair and brown eyes. He was believed to be in the company of 22-year-old Randall L. Wilkinson, a 5’9″, 166 lb., white male with blue eyes and an unknown white female..

Investigators developed information that led them to believe that James D. Polston and Randall L. Wilkinson were at a trailer on KY 127, south of Albany. Upon arrival, Wilkinson fled from the trailer on foot and was apprehended. The Kentucky State Police Special Response Team also responded to the scene and through the use of a mobile robot and camera, were able to get into the trailer and locate Polston lying in the floor of the residence. dead from an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound. The case remains under investigation.
