A Harlan County man is in jail after authorities say he attempted to flee and assaulted an officer during an arrest.
Deputies in Harlan County were attempting to serve an EPO and child support warrant on Shaun Vick at the Holly Point Apartments.
Upon initially making contact with Vick he was able to elude officers and flee on foot.

Deputies along with officers with Harlan City Police Department and Kentucky State Police searched the area for Vick. Vick was located a short time later hiding under a bed in a nearby apartment.
Shaun Vick, 24, of Harlan was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office and charged with Contempt of Court, Assault 3rd (Police Officer), Escape 3rd, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct and Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd.
He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.
