A man who gained notoriety for being a “bogus beggar” by faking a handicap has allegedly added a more serious charge to his repertoire.
Gary Thompson has been in and out of jails across Kentucky since 2000, according to his arrest record, but his latest charge stems from an incident with a woman in Frankfort.
Investigators say that Thompson met up with a woman last February. According to the citation the two hit it off and ended up back at the woman’s Frankfort apartment where he is accused of raping her.

Gary allegedly claims that what happened at the apartment was consensual but the woman reported the incident to police, who got with the County Attorney and returned a 3rd degree rape indictment Tuesday against 32-year-old Thompson.
Thompson’s arrest record is 32 pages long and includes charges from at least ten Kentucky counties.
Thompson is currently in jail in Meade County.
