Private Detective: Two Armed Men Rob Lexington Gas Station

Two armed men robbed a Lexington gas station early Wednesday morning.

Police say two suspects, both armed with handguns, walked into the Marathon station at the corner of New Circle Road and Russell Cave Road around 5:30 a.m. One of the robbers went around the counter and grabbed cash from the register while the other man waited nearby.

Donald Baker was in the store at the time. He said the men acted suspicious when they walked in, and when he saw the guns, he turned around and left.

“I just came in to get a few things before work and saw two guys with guns in their pockets, and they looked at me like,’You know what this is,’ and I seen the guns and I left and went out there and called the law,” he said.

There were no reported injuries.

Police say the suspects were covered from head to toe. One was wearing a camouflage coat and red pajama pants. The other man was wearing a dark jacket and jeans. The duo was last seen running toward the Hollow Creek neighborhood.

Officers say they are reviewing surveillance video to see if it provides any more clues.
