Private Detective: Ex-Educator Pleads Not Guilty To Sex Abuse Charges

A former teacher and guidance counselor accused in two counties of sexually abusing a child answered to the charges in Harrison County today.

58-year-old William Hyatt pleaded not guilty to charges in Harrison County. Hyatt has been indicted in both Harrison and Fayette Counties. In Harrison he is charged with abusing a 12-year-old boy four times between 1979 and 1981 during his time as a volunteer with Big Brothers/Big Sisters.

In Fayette County, Hyatt is charged with two counts of sodomy and one count of sexual assault.

Hyatt also worked in Bracken and Mason County schools.
