Private Detective: Three Arrested in Whitley Co. Meth Bust

A suspicious activity tip led to a methamphetamine bust in Whitley County.

Around 8 p.m. Tuesday June 30, 2015, officers from the Whitley County Sheriff’s office responded to the Woodbine community after he received a complaint about suspicious activity.Upon arrival, they located a vehicle and three persons.

Charlotte Shilt, 49, of Ed Karr Road, provided them with consent to search the vehicle. In it, they found numerous items associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Shilt and a man also in the car, 26-year-old Arthur Turner, were arrested. Each is charged with unlawful possession of meth precursors and possession of drug paraphernalia.

In the parking lot at that time was 32-year-old Amy E. Steffens. She was searched by a female officer, and on her person was found a needle. She was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

All three were lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
