Lexington Police are investigating an armed robbery at Speedway gas station for the third time this week.
The Speedway on Paris Pike was robbed around 3:20 Wednesday morning.
Police say the lone clerk was taking a smoke break when she was approached with a man carrying a metal pipe. That suspect demanded money. That matches the MO of the robberies that happened here on Sunday and Friday nights but police can’t say for sure if these are related.

“We’ve looked at the video from the ones from the past weekend on Friday, I think the last one was on Sunday and then the one tonight and we can’t tell if they’re related or not. Their description vary slightly so we can’t say if they’re related or not,” Lt. Matthew Greathouse told LEX 18.
The weapons have all been different as well. The suspect or suspects in question have used a bat, knife and a pipe. The suspect is described as a black man, wearing a purple knit cap, black jacket, dark jeans and dark boots. Police will be testing that pipe for evidence.
