Wrongful Death Man Accused in Laurel Double Homicide Pleads Not Guilty

The man accused in a Laurel County double homicide is pleading not guilty to the charges.

Bradley Lawson was arrested for the murders of Donnie and Sharon Jackson in March of 2015. Family members tell LEX 18 that Lawson showed up at their home that morning to rob them.

Sharon was shot sitting on the couch and Donnie was shot multiple times. Lawson is then accused of setting their house on fire.

Donnie Jackson’s youngest sister, Erma, told LEX 18’s Leigh Searcy that the couple worked hard their entire lives. When they decided to retire, they both wanted to move back to Kentucky from Michigan.

Erma says due to the horrific nature of how Donnie and Sharon died, her family wants prosecutors to seek the death penalty.

Lawson was already in jail facing drug charges when Laurel County deputies charged him with the Jacksons’ murders.

Lawson’s attorney says that deputies arrested the wrong man. He entered a not guilty plea on behalf of his client in a Laurel County courtroom Monday.
