Private Detective: Grant County Residents Concerned After KKK Fliers Left in Driveways

Residents of Grant County are expressing concern after KKK fliers were left in driveways over the weekend.

The Sheriff’s Office said that a majority of the fliers were found on Dry Ridge Mount Zion Road.

“It does make the residents uneasy when they come to town, we do receive multiple calls,” Chief Deputy Brian Maines.

Several calls came in over the weekend when the fliers were thrown into driveways.

“Once or twice a year, the KKK will come to town and stand on a populated corner and hand out fliers to drivers as they pull up to stop signs,” said Maines.

He said the group also meets near the Grant and Kenton County lines. The fliers are connected to getting more people to those meetings.

“If they’re peaceful we’re not going to make them leave, all we ask is that they do it in a peaceful matter, don’t be pushy,” said Maines.

The Sheriff’s Office is concerned with how the KKK is disturbing material.

“You have the right to pass out fliers anywhere in public you want to, but when you start throwing stuff into people’s yards, that could potentially be blown around or not picked up,” said Maines.
