Private Detective: Cynthiana Man Convicted in Rite Aide Robbery

A Cynthiana man was convicted of federal charges related to the robbery of a Lexington Rite Aid.

The jury in Lexington found 38-year-old Miguel David Ayala guilty of pharmacy robbery and possession with intent to distribute hydrocodone pills on Thursday.

The Department of Justice said that Ayala was armed with a handgun and stole around 4,000 hydrocodone pills from the Rite Aid Pharmacy on Executive Drive on July 8, 2015.

The evidence also established that after the robbery, Ayala intended to distribute the stolen hydrocodone pills.

Ayala is scheduled to appear for sentencing on August 28.
