Wrongful Death Two Indicted in Deadly Hit And Run Case

The Scott County teen who recently admitted he was behind the wheel of a truck involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash has been indicted on a reckless homicide charge.

Both Benjamin Ross,18, and Taylor Putty were indicted Friday in the crash that killed Don Savage. Investigators believe that Ross, who was 17 at the time of the crash, and Putty were in the truck.

This indictment came months after Savage’s family says the father and husband was hit and killed in front of his home while trying to stop a truck from driving recklessly on his street.

Ross was indicted on a reckless homicide charge and a charge of leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid/assistance with death or serious physical injury.

Putty was indicted on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid/assistance with death or serious physical injury and a charge of tampering with physical evidence.
